From Kaimuki to Kenya!

Pastor Ron and students pray over the suitcases, asking for God's blessing on the kids that will receive these items.

Last week, Pastor Ron shared in chapel about his upcoming trip to Africa.  While we are building a school for the kids of Kaimuki, KCC and KCS families are also going to build a school for the kids of Kenya in the Mathare Valley slums outside of Nairobi. Pastor Ron encouraged students to help him fill four suitcases with items for the kids in Kenya.  He asked students to bring a cap (new or used, but clean) and a few small school supplies items (pencils, erasers, pens, crayons, etc.).

Throughout the week, the suitcases slowly filled up! The KCS 'ohana responded by donating over a hundred caps and tons of new school supplies for children in the Mathare Valley.  Former KCS parent Joe Littlefield will also be traveling to Africa with Pastor Ron, and this morning in chapel, they expressed their gratitude to the student body for helping them meet their goal of filling four suitcases.  The items are sure to make a lifetime impact on their recipients!

Pastor Ron leaves for Kenya September 16.  Please pray for his trip and the kids in Kenya - that they would feel Jesus' love extended from Kaimuki!
