Volleyball season at KCS officially wrapped this week Tuesday.  Our girls team, seeded #4 in the Hawaii Sports Fellowship Tournament, faced Friendship Christian School for the third time this season.  After splitting the first two sets, the teams battled in a tight third set.  The girls fought off two FCS match points to tie it at 14. However, FCS scored the next two points to win the game 17-25, 25-18, 16-14.

The game concluded a successful season for the girls. They ended the regular season on a three game winning streak, which improved their record to 4-4 prior to the tournament.

Reflecting on the season, Mr. Kaji recounts numerous highlights which include watching his team pull out several exciting wins. He attributes the growth in his players to their hard work during practice. The upperclassmen of the team have also taken on leadership roles by encouraging the younger players.

The boys team finished the season at 1-7.  They didn’t qualify for the post-season tournament, but Mr. Seria is proud of the boys’ effort throughout the season.  He has seen growth in his setters and the team’s transition between offense and defense in games.  He remains optimistic for the future of his young team.  Go, KCS!
