September 11, 2015
By KCS Staff
First time voting for the 1st graders!
Students from 1st to 12th grade gathered in the Worship Center on Thursday morning to listen to speeches from the candidates running for Student Council Officer positions.  Candidates shared about themselves in their speeches, explaining their qualifications for the job and heart to serve KCS.  Immediately following the assembly, classes proceeded to the MPR to cast their ballots.
Advisor Mrs. Trapasso is pleased to present President Paul Lee (Gr. 11), Vice President Justus Ahn (Gr. 9), Secretary Grant Welham (Gr. 9), and Treasurer Leilani Zbin (Gr. 9) as the 2015-16 Student Council Officers.  They look forward to working with homeroom representatives throughout the school year.  Officers and representatives will hold their first monthly meeting next week Thursday morning.
As a service oriented group, the Student Council plans and implements projects throughout the year.  In past years, organizations such as River of Life, Aloha Harvest, Kapiolani Children’s Hospital, and the Jesus Loves You Ministry have gratefully received items donated by the school ‘ohana.  Mrs. Trapasso says the goal of Student Council is to “serve others while giving praise to God.”
