Barnstorming Tour

April 01, 2016
By KCS Staff

A specially trained team of Barnstormers visited KCS on Wednesday, as they shared the science of flight with 6th grade students.  This unique program offered by the Pacific Aviation Museum gives students an opportunity to learn aviation concepts through hands-on activities. In the MPR, students rotated through several stations, from viewing a portable wind tunnel to conducting tabletop experiments that demonstrated Newton’s 3rd Law of Motion and the Bernoulli Principle. With guidance from a Barnstormer, students took turns “flying” a World War II era P-40 model airplane.  What a neat opportunity for students to explore the world of aviation!
