Over $20K Raised for Kyle-Lenn-Joey Scholarship Fund

By KCS Staff

Today was a beautiful day to celebrate the lives of Kyle Schumacher, Lenn Kawamura, and Joey Yoshikawa.  While younger students walked/ran around campus, older students enjoyed the grassy field at Kapaolono Park.

Many students worked hard to share the stories of Kyle, Lenn, and Joey and collect pledges from family and friends.  Thanks to everyone’s collective effort, over $20,500 will be added to the scholarship fund.  The scholarship fund continues to impact the lives of many current KCS families.  Ms. Yokomizo (K2 Teacher), who has been at KCS for every Walkathon, reflected on this 36th annual event:  “I’m sure the 3 boys were cheering for us at KCS.  The monies collected will help those who will always remember KCS as a place of ‘ohana and love.”
The Walkathon would not be possible without a true team effort.  KCS is thankful for the generous outpouring of funds for its scholarship program. Special thanks to the parent/grandparent volunteers that pitched in to make today’s event a huge success!
