KCS approved to accept international students

In early August, KCS received verification it had been approved by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) to allow international students (K-12th grade) to apply for admission to KCS. As a SEVP certified school, KCS can generate an I-20 form for non-immigrant students to obtain their visa.

As school leadership sees a growing market in Hawaii for international students, the process for approval began in late 2016. The procedure included submitting documentation, training for designated school officials, and a site visit and interview by a local field representative from SEVP.

Principal Mrs. Ahn was recently interviewed for a Private School Special Report in Pacific Business News. In an article covering the topic of international students, she shared these thoughts: “As the pool of international students coming to Hawaii increases, we have seen an increase in inquiries, so we are really excited to grow in this area.”
