Congratulations to the Class of 2018!

As the young man played a gentle melody on the keyboard, three young women, crowned with haku lei, lifted their voices to sing, “I’ll be there for you...and I know you’ll be there for me too.”

This truly close-knit class of 2018 was honored during the school's third high school graduation ceremony on May 23. Salutatorian Shereyna Shinbo and Valedictorian Yuzuha Shibata both shared about the special bond between the four individuals, why they were so grateful for their families and teachers, and how they sought to trust God in spite of struggles or unlikely situations. Pastor Kainoa Valente reminded them of the importance of core values and challenged them to fulfill their God-given potential by embodying the fruit of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Pastor Ron Arnold echoed this idea as the pastors, elders, and administrators prayed over the seniors.

To close the evening, Principal Robyn Ahn revealed their class gift: a photograph of a sunrise taken by Skylar Yoshimoto which will be displayed in the main office to remind us of this very special graduating class. We wish them the best as they continue their education at Chapman University, Macalester College, Seattle Pacific, and Trinity Western!
