KCS says aloha to a special volunteer

By KCS Staff

After bundling together dollar bills and sorting coins, volunteer Cynthia Hennessey wrapped up counting her final chapel offering. KCC/KCS staff bid Aunty Cynthia a fond aloha today as she retires after fifteen years of serving the KCS 'ohana.

Since 2004, she has faithfully committed several hours each week to help out in the KCS office. Aunty Cynthia has served in various ways, from delivering lunches to counting the chapel offering and organizing used uniforms and first aid kits. She initially connected to KCS as a KCC church member and continues to have strong ties to the school. One of her granddaughters attended KCS, and her son, Randy, serves as the KCC/KCS IT Manager.

Aunty Cynthia says she will miss working with the children and staff. As she reflects on her time spent at KCS, she says that coming to campus and getting to know everyone "gave [her] something to look forward to every week." Her upcoming plans include continuing her needlework, spending more time with family, and travelling.
