By KCS Staff

Coming back to an elementary classroom at KCS is somewhat of a homecoming for 2A teacher Erin Hamamoto. She not only returns to teaching after five years as a stay-at-home mom, but she rejoins the KCS 'ohana after previously teaching 1st grade from 2006-2008. She is Pam and Steve Kaji's daughter, and the KCS legacy in their family continues as Erin's two daughters, Reece (P3/4) and Ryah (K), begin their KCS journeys this fall!

Ashley Yoshioka joins the 2nd grade team as our new 2B teacher. She holds her Master's degree in education and has previously worked for the DOE as an educational assistant. Within the past year, she has connected to KCS through volunteering in Mrs. Kaji's classroom, joining the after school care staff, and teaching both summer school and summer fun. She embraces the supportive and caring, Christian environment of KCS!

Over the past three years, Yvette Branner has served in many roles, from KCS parent (Micah '23, Audrey '26, and Jacquelyn) to substitute teacher and Mission Emphasis Day guest speaker. Along with her experience in teaching, she is also a licensed family marriage therapist. Mrs. Branner is excited to work with her 5th grade students in science and social studies, and she looks forward to making an impact on their lives!

Ann Toma joins our high school teaching staff as the new Chinese I and Chinese II instructor. She will also teach weekly Mandarin lessons to elementary students in 3rd through 5th grade. Mrs. Toma was drawn to the love and energy of the KCS staff and the atmosphere of the school. She looks forward to an awesome year!

Gene Generoso brings 20 years of experience teaching preschool, joining KCS as the new P2B teacher. Prior to KCS, she worked at the Head Start preschool program for 18.5 years. This year, she connected to KCS through the Summer program, working with our 3-year-olds during summer school and summer fun. Ms. Gene embraces the mission of KCS and looks forward to getting to know her new KCS 'ohana!

Assisting Ms. Gene in the P2B class is Sabrina Coulson. She worked as a nanny for two years, and with three younger brothers and a niece and nephew, she has always been "surrounded by diapers." Ms. Sabrina is also a talented musician. She is the vocal director at Anchor Church and has written her own music and recorded albums.

Mei Chun is ecstatic to join the preschool team, patiently waiting for 7 years to work at KCS! As the new P2A teacher, she brings over 20 years of experience working with preschoolers at Makiki Christian, Our Redeemer Lutheran School, and First Chinese Church of Christ Preschool. Mrs. Mei is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese and will be teaching Chinese to all five of our preschool classes. Her son, Aiden (Gr. 3), is also beginning his KCS career!

Joining Ms. Mei's P2A class as a part-time aide (Tuesdays and Thursdays) is Katy Brumley. She is a KCS mom (Harper, Gr. 1; Morgan, Gr. 3) and a member of KCC. Mrs. Katy loves to sing and is excited to share Jesus and His love with our two-year-olds!

Marisa Paz also joins the P2A team as a part-time aide (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays). She is a familiar face around KCS, working for our After School Care and Summer programs since 2016. In May, Ms. Marisa graduated from Chaminade  University and is currently pursuing her Master's in Education.
