Student Council Presents Gift to Kapiolani Health Foundation

By KCS Staff

Student Council Officers presented the Hawaii Pacific Health Child Life Program with a $250 gift. Torri Ishida, Special Events Coordinator, accepted the gift on behalf of the program, which supports children during their hospital stay through education, events, family support, and playroom activities.  In recent years, the Child Life playroom has received donations from the KCS 'ohana during the Student Council's annual toy and gift drive in December.

Several KCS classes also contributed handmade cards for patients. The cards were filled with scripture, drawings, and encouraging words written by students.  What an honor it is to impact children in the community!

Historic Trip for High School Students

As one of the first groups to tour the White House under President Trump’s administration, students on the Washington, D.C. trip garnered local and national media coverage earlier this month.  On March 2-10, American history came to life for the group comprised of 18 freshmen and sophomores.  They toured some of the country’s most important national parks, museums, and monuments.  Senator Mazie Hirono’s office hosted the group during their tour of the Capitol, and students enjoyed a “talk story” session with Senator Hirono.

For more coverage of the students' trip to the White House, check out KITV4, KHON2, and Hawaii News Now.
