Nā Mele Ā Nā Keiki
A KCS tradition has been revitalized to reach a new generation of keiki! This choral and hula group provides an opportunity for older preschool and elementary students to share God's love through song or dance. Directed by Mr. Kaji and Miss Mele, practices are held after school. Nā Mele Ā Nā Keiki has performed at the 50th Anniversary, KCS chapels, and KCC Sunday services.
Students in grades 4-12 are eligible to join the Chess Team. No experience necessary. Practices are held twice a week after school, as students are given lessons and ample time to play. Interscholastic tournaments are held approximately once a month.
Middle School students enrolled are invited to tryout for the MathCounts team. Students practice twice a week during their lunch period to prepare for the HBA Middle School math competition in the fall and the MathCounts regional competition held in February. Team members work to improve their mathematical speed, accuracy, reasoning, and collaboration skills.
