What We Believe
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and one God.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people through his death, burial, and resurrection. He arose from the dead after three days, demonstrating His power over sin and death. He will return again someday to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords.
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with God the Father and God the Son. He is present in the world to make people aware of our need for Jesus. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation, and provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer spiritual gifts. As Christians we seek to live under His control daily.
The Bible is a collection of 66 books written over a period of 1,500 years. Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, God guided these authors to not only teach the original audience but to encourage and equip the Church today. The Bible is inspired or “God-breathed” and we affirm the words of the Apostle Paul to Timothy, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16)
We are made in the image of God, to be like Him in character; however, we have been separated from Him because of sin. The good news is that because God loves us, He offers us salvation.
Salvation is God’s free gift to us, but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by good works. Only by trusting in Jesus as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we acknowledge Jesus is Lord, died and rose again, we have eternal life.
