Chess Club

Students in grades 4-12 are eligible to join the Chess Team.  No experience necessary.  Practices are held twice a week after school, as students are given lessons and ample time to play.  Interscholastic tournaments are held approximately once a month.

Cubing Club

Started in 2022 by Caleb Yoshioka ‘24, the Cubing Club is open to students in grades 5-12. Caleb shares his passion for solving the iconic Rubik’s Cube with fellow KCS students. Members meet weekly to learn algorithms, memorize steps, and build muscle memory to increase their speed in solving these puzzles. Participation in interscholastic speedcubing events is also encouraged.

MathCounts Team

Middle School students enrolled are invited to tryout for the MathCounts team.  Students practice twice a week during their lunch period to prepare for the HBA Middle School math competition in the fall and the MathCounts regional competition held in February.  Team members work to improve their mathematical speed, accuracy, reasoning, and collaboration skills.
