Chess Club
Students in grades 4-12 are eligible to join the Chess Team. No experience necessary. Practices are held twice a week after school, as students are given lessons and ample time to play. Interscholastic tournaments are held approximately once a month.
MathCounts Team
Middle School (7th and 8th grade) students are invited to join the MathCounts team. Students practice twice a week during their lunch period to prepare for the HBA Middle School math competition in the fall and the MathCounts regional competition held in February. Team members work to improve their mathematical speed, accuracy, reasoning, and collaboration skills.
Oahu Math League
High school students are invited to join the high school math team. Seven interscholastic meets, sponsored by the Oahu Mathematics League, are held at various high schools throughout the school year. Over 28 private and public schools participate in the Oahu Math League statewide. Students practice twice a week during their lunch period.
Spring Drama Production
Every spring semester, students in grades 4-12 have the opportunity to be a part of our annual Spring Drama Production. Under the direction of Mark Branner, University of Hawaii Manoa Professor of Theater, students have the opportunity to participate in the production through various roles, from acting roles to puppet/prop crew members. Past productions have included Robin Hood, The Jungle Book, and Alice in Wonderland.
