Taught by Mrs. Hsia, this is the fourth year KCS has offered American Sign Language (ASL) as a one-credit elective for seniors. Students not only learn about Deaf culture and communicating through ASL, but also integrate the Christian faith in their coursework. Through one of their assignments this year, the class learned about the great need for missionaries to Deaf communities around the world, as only 2% of the Deaf know and follow Jesus. Students took an active step by creating a PSA music video to share what they had learned about Deaf missions. The class presented "Nightlight" during Senior Chapel on May 8, encouraging audience participation with glow sticks. Bravo to the senior class for such an impactful project that can be shared to reach the Deaf community. Grab a glow stick and join the Class of 2026 in shining Christ's light!
